CBG is excited to welcome additional and replacement instruments to its gong kebyar set!

The purchase included:
additional gangsa kantilan
two additional melody instruments
5 pairs ceng-ceng kopiak
replacement middle gong
replacement high gong
overseas shipping fees
The purchase improves and advances the quality of sound of the overall ensemble; creates opportunities for new and expanded ensemble membership; provides new and richer learning experiences for new and existing ensemble members; and expands CBG’s repertoire to include baleganjur, gong gede and other gamelan styles.

CBG raised the funds needed to to complete the purchase.
Instruments are expected to arrive in Chicago in Fall 2021!
